Data protection
1. Scope
This privacy policy applies to the handling of personal data of visitors to our website, supporters, testimonials and other interested parties (the ‘data subjects’) by Interpharma (hereinafter ‘Interpharma’, “we” or ‘us’).
Swiss data protection law (DSG) applies.
Please note that this privacy policy may be subject to change from time to time. The current version published on our website applies.
2. Information about the controller
Interpharma is responsible for processing personal data.
If you have any data protection concerns, please contact us at the following address: info@interpharma.ch
3. Collection and processing of personal data
3.1 Political campaigns
We primarily process personal data that we receive from the persons concerned (supporters, testimonials, donors) in the context of our political campaign.
We use this data to conduct business relations with the persons concerned or on the basis of consent, because it is voluntarily disclosed to us by the persons concerned.
3.2 When you visit our website
When you visit our website, the browser used on your device automatically sends information to our website’s server. This information is temporarily stored in a log file. The following information is collected without your intervention and stored until it is automatically deleted:
- Name of the file accessed;
- Date and time of access;
- Amount of data transferred;
- notification of whether the retrieval was successful;
- description of the type of web browser used;
- operating system used;
- the previously visited page;
- provider;
- your IP address.
Log file information is stored for security reasons (e.g. to investigate misuse or fraud) for a maximum period of 6 months and then deleted. Data that needs to be stored for further evidence purposes is excluded from deletion until the respective incident has been finally clarified.
We use this data to ensure a smooth connection, comfortable use of the website, evaluation of system security and stability, and for other administrative purposes. Under no circumstances do we use the collected data for the purpose of drawing conclusions about your person. In addition, we use cookies and analysis and marketing services when you visit our website. You can find more detailed information on this in sections 5 f. of this privacy policy.
3.3 When using our contact form
If you have any questions, we offer you the option of contacting us via a contact form provided on the website. To answer your questions, we require your contact details (first name, email address) and a message. Further information can be provided voluntarily (surname, telephone number). This data processing is based on your consent.
3.4 Newsletter
When you subscribe to the newsletter and subsequently confirm your subscription via the link in the email you receive (double opt-in), the following personal data is processed: surname, first name, email address. The data is processed for the purpose of authenticating the subscriber during registration and sending the subscriber a newsletter.
The data you enter for this purpose will be processed by us. We use the MailChimp service to send our newsletters. The provider is Rocket Science Group LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA. MailChimp can be used to organise and analyse the sending of newsletters. When you enter data for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter, it is stored on MailChimp’s servers in the USA. When you open an email sent by MailChimp, a file contained in the email (known as a web beacon) connects to MailChimp’s servers. This allows us to determine whether a newsletter message has been opened and which links, if any, have been clicked on. In addition, technical information such as the time of retrieval, IP address, browser type or operating system is collected for statistical analysis of newsletter campaigns. This information cannot be assigned to the respective newsletter recipient. Further information can be found here: https://mailchimp.com/legal/terms/. The processing of this data is based exclusively on your consent. You can revoke this consent at any time, for example via the ‘unsubscribe’ link in the newsletter. Data processing operations that have already taken place remain unaffected by the revocation.
4. Purpose of data processing
We process the personal data we collect primarily to promote our political campaign, including the processing of your donations.
In addition, we process your personal data for various purposes:
- For the secure and stable operation of this website. This is in our legitimate interest;
- To provide services within the framework of contractual relationships or to initiate such contractual relationships, as well as to exercise all associated rights and fulfil all associated obligations;
- To contact you in response to your enquiry. This is based on your consent or, where applicable, serves to initiate contractual relationships;
- For marketing measures, in particular for sending newsletters. This is in our legitimate interest. Depending on the marketing measure, separate consent may be obtained for this purpose.
- For accounting and archiving in accordance with applicable law, as well as for the fulfilment of other legal requirements.
5. Cookies
We typically use ‘cookies’ and similar technologies on our website to identify your browser or device. A cookie is a small file that is sent to your computer or automatically stored on your computer or mobile device by the web browser you use when you visit our website. When you visit this website again, we can recognise you, even if we do not know who you are. In addition to cookies that are only used during a session and are deleted after your visit to the website (‘session cookies’), cookies can also be used to store user settings and other information for a certain period of time (e.g. two years) (‘permanent cookies’). However, you can set your browser to reject cookies, store them only for one session or delete them prematurely. Most browsers are preset to accept cookies.
5.1 Necessary cookies
We use so-called technically necessary cookies in some areas of our website. These file elements allow your computer to be identified as a technical unit during your visit to this website in order to enable you to use our services. However, you usually have the option of setting your internet browser to inform you about the occurrence of cookies so that you can allow or exclude them or delete existing cookies. Please use the help function of your internet browser to obtain information on how to change these settings. Please note that some functions of our website may not work if you have deactivated the use of technically necessary cookies. Cookies do not allow a server to read private data from your computer or data stored by another server. They do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain viruses. Technically necessary cookies are used to enable our website to function.
5.2 Additional cookies
In addition, we use the following cookies to understand how you use our services.
Use of Google Tag Manager
We use Google Tag Manager. This is merely a management system that allows us to integrate the other services described below into our website. Google Tag Manager itself does not process any personal data. This is only done by the Google services described below in the manner described there.
Use of Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics uses ‘cookies’, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website will generally be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. However, due to the activation of IP anonymisation on this website, your IP address will be truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On our behalf, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide us with other services relating to website activity and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser software; however, please note that if you do this, you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link (http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de).
We would like to point out that on this website, Google Analytics has been extended by the code ‘gat._anonymizeIp();’ in order to ensure anonymous collection of IP addresses (so-called IP masking). For more information on terms of use and data protection, please visit www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html or https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de&gl=de.
Google Web Fonts
Our website uses Google Web Fonts, which are provided by Google Inc., to display fonts. These web fonts are integrated via a server call, usually a Google server in the USA. This transmits to the server which of our web pages you have visited. Google also stores the IP address of the browser on the visitor’s device. Further information can be found at: www.google.com/fonts#AboutPlace:about and www.google.com/policies/privacy/.
Facebook Analytics
Our website uses the web analytics service Facebook Analytics from Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA, or in the EU Facebook Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland. Facebook Analytics uses cookies (see section 5 Cookies).
These enable Facebook in the USA to analyse the use of our website, including IP addresses.
We would like to point out that we use Facebook Analytics in conjunction with the IP anonymisation function. If anonymisation is active, Facebook shortens IP addresses within member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, which means that no conclusions can be drawn about your identity. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Facebook server in the USA and truncated there. Facebook uses the information collected to evaluate the use of our websites for us, to compile reports for us in this regard and to provide us with other related services. You can find out more at https://analytics.facebook.com/.
By continuing to use our website and/or agreeing to this privacy policy, you consent to us setting cookies and thus collecting, storing and using personal usage data, even after the end of the browser session. You can revoke this consent at any time by activating the browser setting to refuse third-party cookies.
6. Integration of third-party services and content
6.1 Facebook
Our website uses plug-ins from the social network Facebook, which is provided by Facebook Inc. The Facebook plug-ins are marked with a Facebook logo or the addition ‘Like’ or ‘Share’. An overview of Facebook plug-ins and their appearance can be found at https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins.
When you visit a page on our website that contains such a plug-in, your browser establishes a direct connection to Facebook’s servers. The content of the plug-in is transmitted directly from Facebook to your browser and integrated into the page.
Through this integration, Facebook receives the information that your browser has accessed the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not have a Facebook profile or are not currently logged in to Facebook. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted directly from your browser to a Facebook server in the USA and stored there.
If you are logged into Facebook, Facebook can immediately associate your visit to our website with your Facebook profile. If you interact with the plug-ins, for example by clicking the ‘Like’ button, this information is also transmitted directly to a Facebook server and stored there. The information is also published on your Facebook profile and displayed to your Facebook friends.
For the purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Facebook, as well as your rights in this regard and setting options for protecting your privacy, please refer to Facebook’s privacy policy: http://www.facebook.com/policy.php.
6.2 Twitter
Plug-ins from the short message network Twitter Inc. are integrated into our website. You can recognise the Twitter plug-ins (‘Tweet’ button) by the Twitter logo and the addition ‘Tweet’. When you visit a page on our website that contains such a plug-in, a direct connection is established between your browser and the Twitter server. Twitter thereby receives the information that you have visited our site with your IP address. If you click on the Twitter button while you are logged into your Twitter account, you can link the content of our pages to your Twitter profile. This allows Twitter to associate your visit to our pages with your user account.
We would like to point out that, as the provider of the pages, we have no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted or its use by Twitter. Further information on this can be found here: http://twitter.com/privacy.
6.3 Vimeo
Plugins from Vimeo, LLC, 555 West 18th Street, New York, New York 10011, USA, are used on our website for the integration and display of video content. When you visit a page with an integrated Vimeo plugin, a connection to the Vimeo servers in the USA is established. This tells Vimeo which of our pages you have visited. Vimeo can assign your surfing behaviour directly to your personal profile if you are logged into your Vimeo account. You can prevent this by logging out beforehand. Details on how user data is handled can be found in Vimeo’s privacy policy at: https://vimeo.com/privacy.
6.4 YouTube
Plugins from YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA, are used on our website to integrate and display video content. When you visit a page with an integrated YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube’s servers in the USA is established. YouTube is informed which of our pages you have visited. YouTube can assign your surfing behaviour directly to your personal profile if you are logged into your YouTube account. You can prevent this by logging out beforehand. Details on the handling of user data can be found in YouTube’s privacy policy at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.
6.5 Google Maps
Google Maps services are used on our website (e.g. in-screen or via interfaces/API). Google LLC, USA, may therefore process information about your actual location. Google uses various technologies to determine your location, such as IP addresses, GPS and other sensors that provide Google with information about nearby devices, Wi-Fi access points or mobile phone masts, for example.
For the purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of data by Google, as well as your rights in this regard and setting options for protecting your privacy, please refer to Google’s privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de&gl=de.
6.6 Tracking with fusedeck
The fusedeck tracking solution from Capture Media AG (hereinafter ‘Capture Media’) is integrated into this website. Capture Media is a Swiss company based in Zurich that measures the use of this website on behalf of clients in the context of engagements and events. Tracking is anonymous, so that no connection can be made to specific or identifiable persons. Further information on data protection and the rights of data subjects in connection with fusedeck, including the option to opt out (right to object), can be found in the privacy policy and information on the right to object. https://privacy.fusedeck.net/de/bZiZhE69IZ
7. Other recipients of your data
Your personal data will not be transferred to third parties for purposes other than those listed.
However, it is possible that we may use contract data processors, particularly in connection with the use of external IT service providers. These contract data processors carry out the relevant data processing exclusively on our behalf and on our instructions. They are bound by the same data protection regulations as we are.
8. Rights of data subjects
In connection with the processing of personal data, data subjects are entitled to the following rights by law. Please note that their existence and scope may vary depending on the specific data protection legislation applicable in each case:
- Information/access: Data subjects have the right to obtain information from us as to whether personal data relating to them is being processed and, if so, what data is being processed. Requests for information may be submitted for this purpose.
- Correction: If personal data is incorrect, data subjects have a legal right to have it corrected.
- Withdrawal of consent: If the processing of personal data is based on the consent of the data subject, the data subject may withdraw this consent. The withdrawal of consent does not affect processing based on other grounds. The withdrawal only applies to the future.
- Restriction: Under certain conditions, the data subject may request the restriction of the processing of their personal data. This may be the case, for example, if the accuracy of the data is in doubt. Please note that this may restrict or even prevent the provision of services in individual cases.
- Data portability: The data subject may request that the personal data provided to us by the data subject be made available in a commonly used and machine-readable format and, subject to any overriding interests, may reuse this data.
- Deletion: The data subject has a legal right to have their personal data deleted if it is no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected or in the event of a justified objection or revocation of consent. In any case, the use of data for legally prescribed reasons and for the assertion, exercise and protection of legal claims remains reserved.
- Complaints: We also inform you that data subjects have a legal right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority (https://www.edoeb.admin.ch/edoeb/de/home/der-edoeb/kontakt/adresse.html) if they do not agree with the handling of their personal data.
9. Place of data processing
Data processing by Interpharma generally takes place in Switzerland. Cross-border disclosure of personal data from Switzerland is possible (see in particular sections 5 and 6). Your data may therefore be processed in Europe or the USA, but in exceptional cases in any country in the world.
Disclosure to countries with equivalent data protection standards is carried out in accordance with appropriate data protection safeguards (in particular the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses) or with the consent of the data subject.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
10. Data security
We take appropriate security measures to maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of your personal data, to protect it against unauthorised or unlawful processing and to counteract the risks of loss, accidental alteration, unintentional disclosure or unauthorised access.
11. Duration of storage of personal data
Personal data of data subjects will be stored for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected or for as long as we have a legitimate interest in doing so. If you withdraw your consent, we will delete your data from that point onwards. This is subject to any statutory retention obligations.
